I wonder if Queen Mera is into sea horses the same way Catherine the Great was into horses?

Also, what species of fish does Queen Mera’s poon smell like?

She shares some of the credit for the “Amazon NY deal” going away. Dems in NY aren’t happy at all with her.

I get the anger towards her, but really it’s too ridiculous to be taken seriously. I almost feel sorry for her in a way, because she’s so far out of her league and doesn’t even know it. One of these days it’s all going to come tumbling down on her, and she’s going to be devastated.

It’s not just stupidity, because a stupid person would recognize when they’ve been out smarted. She’s also arrogant and incapable of self evaluation. She’s extremely divorced from reality and has no awareness.

She’s done this all to herself though. Yes, she got thrown into the media spotlight due to her age and looks, and overtaken a spot owned by another Dem for decades. Those were accomplishments. But she thought she’d arrived, and her lack of experience didn’t matter. She thought she could use big words and speak like everyone else and no one would realize she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. If she just kept her head down and listened for the first 6 months of her career instead of acting like her peers didn’t know anything, she might of been a decent politician…not that that bar is very high.

    Ok. Then do it.

LOL, decent politician. kind of like a decent pedophile.

    F~~~ing politicians.

I don’t know. She’s become a pretty good litmus test for evaluating the relative sanity of people with liberal points of view. If you side with her, her Green New Deal, or anything in general, then there is zero point in having a conversation with that person. They live in fantasy land and beyond hope, at least until they are will to give that crap up. If they are willing to to acknowledge that it’s fantasy nonsense, then you can compare whatever other crap they believe to the AOC fantasy nonsense…and show them it’s really not the different.

Put another way, anyone who follows AOC is doing so based on base level instincts and thinking only. They are acting on emotions and the idea that if it sounds good it must be good. If they are willing to believe that all that glitters is not gold, then they could be open to the possibility that all the other glittering gold is fake as well.

Maybe a third way, she’s one big giant analogy. People use analogies in order to prove a related point that’s not as easy to see and communicate. The analogy is basic and often exaggerated to the point of ridiculous. And that’s exactly what she is, basic and exaggerated to the point of ridiculousness. So use her to prove points that are not so easy to see and communicate.

    Ok. Then do it.

I pretty much just stop listening to people who say things like “free” healthcare, “free” child care services, “free” college, “free” or subsidized housing, a UBI for everyone, etc, which right now is pretty much the entire field of democratic presidential candidates making huge lists of promises like that. Myself, along with probably quite a few guys on here have an average or above income with no dependents. Guess who would be footing the bill for all this “free” stuff. When someone has no concept that this stuff isn’t free, they aren’t worth even trying to have an intelligent conversation with.

This got me thinking…the English language (and probably most others) is very much lacking when it comes to the word ‘free’. The word should be broken up into at least 5 different words to specify exactly what is meant.

1 – There is ‘free’ in terms that you and no one else has to pay for it. It can be provided by nature or biology. That would be things like air and water, speech and religion. It can even include labor under certain circumstances, if someone gives labor of their own free will, or coerced through government…such as community service. Technically, labor would only apply if the person is not sacrificing income in the process. These are the only things that truly can be considered Rights.

2 – There is ‘free’ in terms that the person consuming the product is paying nothing, but is required to give something or perform a task in order to earn the free thing. That would be something like getting a fee meal in exchange for donations. It would mean getting a coupon for lunch after sitting through a time-share seminar. It means watching commercials for entertainment. It means buy 1 get 1 free deals.

3- There is ‘free’ in terms that you are actually paying for the item or service indirectly through or some other means. The city park is free, only because taxes pay for it’s upkeep. Police and Fire depts are free because taxes pay they’re salaries. The roads are free. The military is free.

4 – There is ‘free’ in terms that you pay nothing, but someone else is paying for it in it’s entirety of their own free will. This would include parents paying for children. It includes gifts given to others. It’s charities.

5- There is ‘free’ in terms that you pay nothing, but someone else is paying for it against their free will. It includes things obtain by stealing from someone. It includes things provided by the government that are not equally provided to all taxpayers and/or is given to people who do not pay taxes at all. Wellfare. Schools. Healthcare. Government housing. FEMA. Special Olympics. Foreign aid. Social Security. Pretty much the entire Democratic platform.

People generally understand 2. 1 and 5 are often confused…which is really amazing considering how different they actually are. Politicians, the media, etc absolute love to intermix 3 4 and 5, claiming there is absolutely no difference between them. And there is some legitmacy to this in some cases. By that I mean that in some cases giving specific assistance to some can have an overall benefit to the whole. Providing foreign aid can reduce the need/cost of military. Schools can create an educated society, that can provide more to individuals, reduce crime, need for police, etc. FEMA can prevent a location from being financially devastated, which can have a larger impact.

However, the impact of free for some to the benefit of all is usually way, way overstated, if it can apply at all. It also totally discounts the reality that people will help themselves when they have no choice, and be happier, better people for it.

    Ok. Then do it.

    Ditto.

I’ve also stopped listening to anyone that tries to manipulate my (now nonexistent) emotions instead of presenting a logical argument.

Yeah…I don’t mind some handout programs. I realize through no fault of their own are sometimes born with handicaps, can get injured, sick, or disabled. I don’t mind seeing people with limitations get some help. Unfortunately the more handout programs we create, the more it goes beyond that and has long since crossed a point where we are just subsidizing stupidity and poor choices.

I’ve also stopped listening to anyone that tries to manipulate my (now nonexistent) emotions instead of presenting a logical argument.

Definitely. Just look at the “student loan crisis” and “free” college as an example. Look at it through logic…what is the point of college? Its nothing more than an investment in yourself to increase your earning potential, and given a high enough tuition and/or low enough earning potential its a bad investment. Look at it through emotion…what do you get? People think higher education is like some amazing, mystical, liberating right we are all entitled to and the “college experience” is something super special.

Emotion wants to fix the issue by “free” college for everyone and forgiving student loans. Logic would say things like choose a more affordable college, take advantage of community college, commute instead of live on campus, make sure you get a degree with above average earning power, do 4 years in the military and take advantage of the GI bill, work and go to school part time as a lot of employers offer tuition assistance, or just don’t go to college at all and get into a trade or get a CDL as those are pretty stable career choices with above average incomes.

So long as people want to take the emotional approach to it we are just trying to fix problems by subsidizing stupid. If someone with 100k in student loans and a useless degree gets their loans forgiven, it doesn’t change the fact their college was insanely expensive and/or they borrowed a ton for “living expenses” and wasted it on dumb s~~~, and their degree is useless. If we give everyone “free” tuition to state colleges, again, it doesn’t change that a lot of degrees are still useless. We should be telling people don’t go to the more expensive colleges, and don’t get degrees in low paying fields…instead they are told don’t worry about the price, that is what loans are for, and go for that job you love, never mind if most people with that degree you are getting never work in the field, or if they do make crappy money when they do.

Its no different than a marriage contract as well. Ask someone what marriage is, and most people will give you some emotion based answer about love and commitment, with maybe a splash of religion thrown in there. Correct them and give them the logical answer about all that being irrelevant to the state and it being a contract about sharing/dividing assets and watch them get p~~~ed. Emotion doesn’t like getting curb stomped by logic, emotion desires its safe space.

    Concerning “FREE” and politics:

When politicians talk; they speak to their TARGET AUDIENCE.
Free everyting is targeted to the Gen X,Yand Millenial population which sees limited income potential and increasingly higher prices in virtually everything in the Economy. “FREE” recsonates to the young here as they don’t know how it will be paid for,but just want the upside. Ultimately, the FREE healthcare, education, housing, etc will cost in higher taxes for everyone, and a loss of personal freedom due to social restrictions/conditions.
    Politicians prey on the ignorant.

The problem is the “forgive college debt” crowd refuses of support forms of forgiveness for other types of debts, like car loans and home mortgages.

Imagine how great it would be for the American people if all their debts were nullified overnight.

This is why the globalists, whom use debt to enslave people, would prefer to start War World III than have their debts, which is so high not able to be paid back, to be nullified.

It would be absolutely horrific. The entire banking system would collapse overnight, and every business you could think of that extends credit to customers would get f~~~ed over hard. Its not the globalists who oppose it, its everyone who understands it would collapse the economy that opposes it, and probably just about everyone who lived within their means and worked hard to be debt free in life.

Not only would I not want to ever see mass debt forgiveness because it would destroy the economy, but its just f~~~ing stupid to think it would be good on any level that some guy who just financed a 60k car and bought a 350k house on top of his maxed out credit cards and student loans basically gets handed a check for a half million to get him out of debt, which he’d immediately probably start getting himself right back into, while someone who was responsible with his money and has lived modestly and saved gets nothing? Like I said above…the government shouldn’t be subsidizing stupidity and poor choices, and that is what mass loan forgiveness would be doing.

If you think debt is so horrible, I’ve got great news for you…borrowing money to pay for s~~~ you can’t afford is completely optional in life.
