Childress is on a drive to have the APA finally officially recognize Alienation for the evil it is.

I’m not a signer of much (besides child support extortion), but I signed this. If you have likewise shared the experience of having your children ripped out of your life, please give it a thought.

Here is Childress’ post about the petition – it got over 10K signatures day 1.

    I signed the petition.

I think Parental Alienation is a form of child abuse and any parent found guilty should be arrested by CPS and the children confiscated and given to the alienated parent with full psychological support to make the transition easy for the children.

The alienator should only have supervised visitation once a psychologist has judged the children ready to and are deprogrammed.

Thanks to the fifth edition of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), launched last week, PAS is now almost logged in as an official disorder. I say “almost” because those exact words are not in the DSM-5 (this was a deliberate and much-discussed decision). However, the new broader category of “child psychological abuse” is defined as “non-accidental verbal or symbolic acts by a child’s parent or caregiver that result, or have reasonable potential to result, in significant psychological harm to the child.”

This is a fire that burns within my gut, that drives me forward every day. Someday my children will find me. Someday the c~~~ will find herself on the bus to hell, fare paid in full by those whom she has hurt.

Now accepting: death threats. Must be in essay form, Must contain at least 3 adverbs and 1 dependent clause. Extra credit given for Iambic pentameter.

I wish you well, sometimes the damage is irreparable and the child is forever lost to you 🤐

Turning around the irreparable damage to children by being taught to hate half their family is the reason they are taking full custody away from the abusing parent to “de-program them” from the brainwashing of the abusing parent.

No contact is allowed until this deprogramming occurs to the satisfaction of a professional psychologist.

Would be great if we could get to that point. I like Childress’ approach, since it has such a simple trigger to raise the PA issue: child refuses contact with a “normal range and affectionately available parent” = evidence of pathogenic parenting. Sort of the parallel to a black eye triggering investigation of physical abuse. And then the steps to identify the abuse are relatively simple – for those who have lived this, take this little quiz for kicks and see how much sounds familiar: Checklist

    My case?

I expressed my concern that my teen daughters were brought into the environment of a lesbian relationship, which included their grooming via exposure to lesbian porn. Result: I was labeled a homophobe and lectured that “alternative” lifestyles were no longer alternative.

I raised PAS specifically, which was haughtily dismissed as “its not in the DSM” (pre V).

I said that my daughters were being abused, and I was labeled “sexist”.

After over $100,000 I gave up.

    Don’t.
    Just Don’t.

See what you have to offer your children. A world that encourages emotional abuse by their mother through parental alienation syndrome.

Would be great if we could get to that point.

It’s already happening. Shared parenting was not a thing 40 years ago. Now 20 states have a presumption of shared parenting.

So, we are starting to see the tip of the iceberg of parental alienation.

You have to remember that prior to 1970 with the advent of contraception and no fault divorce there was very little divorce so very little parental alienation. It would still happen within the nuclear family but it could only go so far or family dissolution would occur. A crime at the time.

So parental alienation is a phenom that is only 48 years old. It has done so much damaged two generations of people that it is clear that it needs to be in the DSM VI or they’ll be a revolution.

It is obvious to everybody, lawyers, judges, legislators and Govenors that parental alienation is truly a form of emotional abuse that is seriously damaging to the child and the entire community that loves that child.

Don’t create damaged children. Don’t give your child to a woman.

Parental Alienation Sole Stated Basis For Change In Custody

The mother’s alienation of the children from the father was the sole basis stated by the Second Department while upholding a change of custody to the father. In its March 25, 2015 decision in Halioris v. Halioris, the court affirmed an order of Suffolk County Family Court Judge Bernard Cheng.

The Second Department noted that modification of an existing court-sanctioned custody arrangement is permissible only upon a showing that there has been a change in circumstances such that modification is necessary to ensure the best interests of the child.

Parental alienation of a child from the other parent is an act so inconsistent with the best interests of the children as to, per se, raise a strong probability that the offending parent is unfit to act as custodial parent.

Isolating kids from their parents (most time from fathers) by state or any similar power should be ceased for the proper mental health of our future generation.

Isolation from your loved ones is a psychological torture for anyone for that matter.

The problem, I imagine, would be PROVING alienation.
My BPD/NPD ex is as slippery as ice. I know that she has alienated my children from me but how do I prove it?
Do I ask neighbors or community members to speak for me? No good there – she spent years planting the seeds of ‘He is such a bad father’ in THEIR heads too.
And you can’t expect small children to testify against their mother – successful alienation has them firmly in her camp.

Sorry for all the posts but this issue is close to my heart because it caused psychological damage to my son.

To prove PAS you need the precise definition according to experts, the DSM V.

    From the DSM V:

a…new broader category of “child psychological abuse” is defined as “non-accidental verbal or symbolic acts by a child’s parent or caregiver that result, or have reasonable potential to result, in significant psychological harm to the child.”

You need all elements to prove something in court. I’m not an attorney but I spent 14 years in family court.

It has to be non-accidental. Meaning it happens more than a few times.

It can be verbal but doesn’t have to be. Withholding the children. Not allowing you to go to ball games, that’s all parental alienation.

It does’t have to alienate the children. Let me say it again. The children don’t have to be alienated from you for you to win custody over this child abuse. The DSM V is very clear that even attempting to turn a child against their parent is grounds for losing custody.

These alienation actions or words have a reasonable potential to result, in significant psychological harm to the child.

    s

Guilt rests on the “reasonable potential” of psychological abuse (parental alienation).

The severe effects of parental alienation on children are well-documented—low self-esteem and self-hatred, lack of trust, depression, and substance abuse and other forms of addiction are widespread, as children lose the capacity to give and accept love from a parent.

If you are being alienated from your children you have two choices. Fight or split.

I fought and it damaged my son. I eventually stopped fighting and let him live with his alienating mother to save him from more fighting and damage.

My advice is to split, knowing that that is what’s best for your children and also knowing that your love for them will come through over the years and they will seek you out without having to go through a 14 year custody fight.

If you plan to fight you must prove that the child is being damaged. That is all. Proving alienation is a he said/she said with the psychologist to judge who’s lying.

If the kids seem afraid of a well behaved father and they are withdrawn and/or depressed. The psychologist has to agree there is psychological damage, like depression, anxiety, lonely, scared or any of a number of psychological abnormalities.

If you can get the psychologist on your side, you win.

That’s how you prove parental alienation.

Find a psychologist well versed in this: https://drcraigchildressblog.com/2014/06/18/diagnosis/

The two sites focused on PA that I return to time and again deal with the same alienation issue, but approach it differently. You can contact the authors directly for advice, guidance, and expert input if necessary.

To prove PAS you need the precise definition according to experts, the DSM V.

Puff, clearly this topic is an obsession of mine also. Welcome to our misery society….

Here are the specific Dxs in DSM5 that Childress points to:DSM-5 Diagnosis

When the three diagnostic indicators of attachment-based “parental alienation” are present in the child’s symptom display, the appropriate DSM-5 diagnosis is:

309.4 Adjustment Disorder with mixed disturbance of emotions and conduct

    V61.20 Parent-Child Relational Problem

V61.29 Child Affected by Parental Relationship Distress

    V995.51 Child Psychological Abuse, Confirmed

    From here: https://drcraigchildressblog.com/2015/11/03/diagnosis-of-parental-alienation/

In my experience, “Parental Alienation” should be avoided as a court issue as much as possible. It is highly charged, polarized, and dredges up decades of conflict – much of it ideology-based.

Better approach is to document the unnatural suppression of the Attachment System (child refuses to see a normal range, affectionately available parent), investigate for pathogenic parenting, then charge psychological abuse. Not a single mention of “PAS”.

Identify the abusers as exactly what they are.

Yeah, definitely don’t bring up parental alienation syndrome in a court of law. There is a horrible fight going on over it with the powers that be ™.

A kidnapper had abducted them – life
A pedophile had stolen their soul – life
